Bar Amore

Neapolitan ease with a glass of natural wine.

There are places you don’t describe by the menu — but by the feeling.
Bar Amore is exactly that.
Not a restaurant, not a bar, not a bistro — but a soft in-between.
Unpretentious, warm, with a glass of natural wine and a steaming plate of pasta that arrives just as you realize — you’re not quite hungry yet, but you definitely want something delicious.

What is this place

Bar Amore opened in the summer of 2024 in Frederiksberg, on Gl. Kongevej — a quiet yet trendy street in Copenhagen.
Behind the concept is a team well-known in the local food scene: Lea Parkins and Philip Skovgaard (Mangia, Circolo, Bevi Bevi).
And once again, they’ve created magic — this time with a Neapolitan twist.

The format is simple and brilliant: a small wine bar, light Italian dishes, zero pressure — maximum pleasure.

The kitchen: small, hot, and unpretentious

You won’t find a 14-course tasting menu at Bar Amore, but each plate feels like a tiny stage.
The food is made up of Neapolitan-inspired small plates — rooted in familiar combinations, elevated with a subtle creative twist.

Polpette – Juicy meatballs in rich tomato sauce, topped with grated cheese — €13
Mussels in chili-garlic oil emulsion — €18
Linguine / Tagliatelle — pasta with bottarga, lemon or cream, and parmesan — €19
Pimientos de Padrón — fried green peppers with fleur de sel — €11

The portions are small but multi-layered. You don’t just eat them — you savor them, immersing yourself in every texture, aroma, and temperature.

Wine: Natural, as it is

If you’re tired of the perfectly polished world of big-name wines, Bar Amore is your chance to reset your palate.
There are no sommeliers in white gloves here — just young bartenders who recommend wines as if sharing something personal.

The Wine List: Short, Ever-Changing, Always On Point
The focus is on natural wines from Italy, France, and Spain — from orange Greco to sparkling Franciacorta, from light reds to biodynamic Lambrusco that pairs perfectly with the polpette.

Atmosphere: An Evening That Doesn’t End

The interior is simple and airy, with wood, rattan chairs, and soft lighting. There are seats by the window, at the bar, and a few small tables outside.
No loud voices, no blasting music, no dress code.
You can come with a partner, a friend, or just by yourself — grab a glass of wine, a bowl of pasta, and 40 minutes of silence.

Prices

  • Small plates: €11.40 – €18.10
  • Main dishes: €19.50 – €24.80
  • Glass of wine: €10.75 – €16.10
  • Bottle of wine: €60.40 – €80.50

Totally in line with Copenhagen standards — but with an exceptional taste-to-price-to-vibe ratio.

Why You Should Go

Because Bar Amore isn’t a format — it’s a feeling.
It’s a place that’s easy, flavorful, and intimate.
Where dinner turns into conversation, and conversation into a ritual.
It’s the kind of spot you already want to return to — even before you’ve left.
