Hotel Lo Scoglio da Tommaso

— the sea, always within reach.

This is not just a hotel. Here, it is nature itself — not the schedule — that sets the rhythm of relaxation.

Founded in 1958 by Tommaso De Simione, it still remains a family-run establishment, now managed by the third generation. And this sense of family is felt in everything: from the way you are welcomed at the door to the way dinner is prepared on the terrace.

Rooms with character

All rooms are named after constellations, with a starry sky painted on the ceiling. There is no artificial luxury here — only the simplicity and authenticity of Mediterranean style: white walls, blue accents, plenty of light, and the sea right outside the window.

Double rooms: spacious doubles with a large terrace and sun loungers. An extra bed can be added — \$305.
Double rooms

Each room features a spacious terrace with sun loungers, air conditioning, a minibar, and Wi-Fi.

Family Room — two separate rooms: a bedroom with a king-size bed and a room with a single bed — $350.

Double rooms are designed for couples or small families, while family rooms offer two separate bedrooms, making them convenient for stays with children.

Private beach

There are no crowds of tourists here — only hotel guests.

The private beach is equipped with sun loungers and canopies, and the water is so close that you literally wake up to the sound of the waves. This is Lo Scoglio’s main advantage: the feeling of complete harmony with nature.

Terrace for special moments

A particular point of pride is the private terrace overlooking Nerano Bay. This spot is designed for intimate dinners, weddings, or celebrations of up to 60 guests.

An open-air kitchen, barbecue, pizza oven, live music, or a performance on request — all of this makes the atmosphere truly unforgettable.

The taste of Amalfi

The Lo Scoglio restaurant has long become a legend. Here, dishes are prepared using produce from the family’s own farm and the daily catch from local fishermen.

Tomatoes, zucchini, olive oil, fresh seafood — everything is as simple as possible, and therefore perfect. The menu changes daily depending on the season and the fishermen’s catch.

Spaghetti alle Cozze (spaghetti with mussels, herbs, and Parmesan cheese) — \$22

It is here that you can try the most famous pastas of the coast and traditional desserts that need no extra embellishment.

How to get there

The hotel is located in Marina del Cantone, Massa Lubrense. You can reach it by car or even by sea: Lo Scoglio has its own pier, making it convenient to arrive from Positano, Capri, or Sorrento. If you’re flying into Naples, the journey takes about an hour and a half by car or a combination of train and bus.

Atmosphere

Lo Scoglio is a place where you feel not like a tourist, but like a guest of a big family. At the next table, you might see Italian fishermen or world-famous celebrities, yet the atmosphere is the same for everyone: simple, genuine, and warm. That’s why people keep coming back here for decades.

Lo Scoglio is about water in every detail, about true Italian hospitality, and about that feeling when you finally find yourself in a place you can call your own.
