THE PENINSULA

art Deco, Huangpu panorama and the formula for perfect luxury.

On Shanghai’s Bund waterfront, there’s a building where time stops.
The Peninsula Shanghai is not just a hotel. It’s a reminder of what luxury looks like when it doesn’t shout but speaks softly.

Opened in 2009, this flagship hotel of the Peninsula chain was the first in mainland China. Its architecture is the epitome of Art Deco style, echoing the historic buildings of the Bund, but inside is a thoroughly modern space: perfect lines, glossy surfaces, brass, light and lots of silence.

A location where everything comes together

The Peninsula Shanghai is located at No. 32 Zhongshan Dong Yi Road, literally on the very edge of the Bund, which offers one of Asia’s most famous views of the Pudong district, with its skyscrapers glowing at night like a shot from a sci-fi movie.

Nearby is East Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s most popular shopping street, and the French Concession is a short drive away. This is where old Shanghai, colonial aesthetics and the ultra-modern city of the future meet.

Rooms that speak the language of details

The hotel has 235 rooms, ranging from spacious Deluxe Rooms (about 55 m²) to true suites – Grand Deluxe River Suite and Astor Suite– with private terraces, Huangpu views and private dressing rooms.

Each room is a miniature laboratory of comfort:

And most importantly, floor-to-ceiling windows with a panorama of the river.

For executives who come to Shanghai for deals, but don’t forget about aesthetics.

For couples looking for a panorama that takes your breath away.
And for those who love the history of cities, where light reflects in the water and time seems to go slower.

It’s part of the rhythm of a city where every morning begins with a river view and a cup of coffee in hand.
